MAIZALL Directors Participate in Global Agribusiness Forum

A MAIZALL delegation attended the Global Agribusiness Forum (GAF) in Sao Paulo on July 25 and 26. MAIZALL Directors John Linder (U.S., see photograph), Federico Zerboni (Argentina), Alfredo Paseyro, Sergio Bortolozzo (Brazil), Cesario Ramalho (Brazil) had speaking or moderating roles during this major conference. The MAIZALL speakers used the opportunities to communicate MAIZALL’s core messages on the importance of farmers’ access to biotechnology and other technology tools to enable them to contribute to an adequate food supply and to do so sustainably, the need for science-based decision-making and open international trade that is not impeded by unnecessary regulatory barriers.

The transfer of MAIZALL’s Presidency from Paulo Bertolini (Brazil) to Federico Zerboni (Argentina) was marked during a brief ceremony at the start of GAF.

Paulo Bertolini and Federico Zerboni were invited to attend a private meeting with members of the Brazilian government.

MAIZALL delegation conducted a separate meeting program while they were in Sao Paulo, including with the Secretary of Agriculture of the State of Sao Paulo, the Brazilian Rural Society, Croplife Brasil, the association of cereal exporters (ANEC) and the Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries (ABIOVE).
